AI agents
Least-privilege tools
Give an agent the least power to act: read before write, draft before send, and no administrator rights.
Tools turn an agent from a writer into an actor: it can send an email, change a record, trigger a payment, publish a page or export a file. Each of these actions has an impact outside the conversation.
The more an agent is allowed to do on its own, the more a single mistake, a misunderstanding or a manipulation costs. An agent that only drafts can be wrong without harm; one that sends, pays or deletes cannot.
Choose the most limited mode that still does the job (read only, draft, action with approval), keep impactful actions behind a human check and never grant administrator rights to finish a task faster.
