Getting started
Discover Maketools, play your first game without an account, then create your account and your organisation.
Maketools is a platform of short games (5 to 10 minutes) that build data and AI literacy in your teams. Public games can be played without an account. Organisations fork a game, adapt its content and brand, then share it with their members and follow the skills they gain.
Play a game without an account
Open Games in the top menu: the catalogue shows the public games as tiles, with their duration and the languages they exist in. Search by title or skill, or filter by family. Click a tile to see its description and the skills it measures. Play starts a demo session: no account is needed and no personal data is kept. Each game has its own page: Prompt Quest, Data Cleaning Rush, Hallucination Hunter, AI or Not AI?, Who is the best CDO?, Double Agent.
Catalogue order
By default, the catalogue first shows the games Maketools features (six at most, for example a game just released), then the most played games of the last 28 days:
- the number of organisations that really play the game (at least 5 completed sessions on their forks); an organisation counts as one vote, whatever its size;
- on a tie, the number of completed sessions; a demo session counts for a quarter;
- otherwise, the order chosen by Maketools.
A game published less than 30 days ago gets the New badge. A top game played by at least three organisations gets the Popular badge. The ranking is computed from aggregated statistics: it shows no figure and reveals no organisation or player. The Sort by menu also offers the newest games and alphabetical order.
Create your account
Start free (top right) opens the sign-up form: your name, your work email and a password of at least 12 characters. You can also continue with Google or Microsoft when your organisation has enabled them. A 6-digit code is then sent to your address to confirm it; once confirmed, the site offers to create your organisation. This step is optional: Later, browse the games takes you to the catalogue. If a colleague invited you, use the link in their invitation instead: you will join their organisation rather than create a new one.
Everything about your account (profile, password, two-step verification, sessions, personal data) is in Your account.
Your home page
Once you are signed in, the logo and the Games link take you to your home page rather than the site presentation. It brings together:
- the games of your organisation that you can play, with your best score and the number of
games you completed. Play opens the game at its address
/{organisation}/{game}; - the shortcuts allowed by your role: Studio (editors and above), Reports (analysts and above) and Organisation;
- the catalogue of public games, below.
If you belong to several organisations, the switcher next to the heading changes the organisation shown; the header follows your choice. Without an organisation, the page offers to create one. Once signed in, the site address also leads to this page; pricing remains available through the Pricing link in the footer, and security through Trust center.
Fork a game for your organisation
From the catalogue, Fork copies a game into your organisation's studio. You then edit its content, test it, publish a release and choose who can play it. The whole cycle is described in the studio overview, and access rules in roles.
Language and theme
The site is available in English and French: use EN / FR in the header. Public pages have
their own address in each language (French pages start with /fr); elsewhere your choice is
remembered on this device. The theme button switches between light, dark and your system setting.
A game starts in the language of the site when it exists in that language, otherwise in its original language. When a game exists in several languages, the Game language selector, next to Play, lets you pick another one before the session, without changing the language of the site. Games can be offered in more languages than the site: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German.
