Releases

Freeze your draft into numbered versions you can publish or return to.

A release is a frozen snapshot of your draft. Releases are numbered 1, 2, 3… in the order they are created, and they carry optional notes (up to 2,000 characters) to remember what changed.

  • A release never changes. Editing the draft afterwards does not affect it, and a release cannot be modified or deleted. This is what makes a rollback safe and your statistics reliable: scores are always computed with the exact content that was played.
  • Creating a release checks the draft again, with the same rules as when you edit it.
  • A release also freezes the translations of the draft. It offers players the source language and the complete translations at the time it is created; the list of releases shows these languages. An incomplete translation is not offered: the studio warns you before you create the release. Finish it, then create a new release to add it.
  • Each release remembers the game version it was made with. After an update, older releases keep playing with their original version.

Creating a release does not publish it: deploy it when you are ready.
